Sköll is a solo project from Martín González, frontman
of the Panamanian Black Metal band Vóran.
This project was born after Martin suffered three
heart attacks in three different occasions, inspiring him through the
agony of his own death. The Atmospheric Doom style of
Sköll is a reflection of his journey through death.
El Poder de la Soledad and Mi Triste Camino, were
recorded in David, Chiriquí and mastered in Costa Rica by Isaac Arroyo at Barba Records.
Triste Ilusión was recorded in Chiriquí and mastered
by Diego Ortega Calvo (Noctrifer) who also plays the drums on this song.
Anima Siderum, was reorded in David, Chiriquí, but
mastered by Ricardo “Lebzul” Brenes at Jaibaná Records, who also
wrote the lyrics and performed all vocals for this
song.
Lake Of Depression started in 2005 as a solo
side-project from Spirit Of The Deep Waters’ vocalist Ricardo “Lebzul” Brenes,
combining Death/Funeral Doom and Dark Ambient. A
project that later on his bandmate from STODW, guitarist Alejandro
Escarreola joined.
Together they recorded their self-titled demo debut in
2005 which was later on included in the 4 way split CD “Infinity In
Souls” from Endless Desperation Prods (Russia), along
with Quasar, Source of Deep Shadows, and Crepuscularia.
Lake Of Depression then went into a dormant stage for
several years until 2019 when Lebzul began the recordings for a
new album with some help from ex-bandmate Eduardo
Vanegas (SOTDW), playing bass in some songs, and Adhy Velásquez
on female vocals.
“The Dead Whale” Promo Track 2019, was released
digitally on July 22, 2019, and along with three other tracks, taken
from the recordings for the new CD, are featured in
“El Trágico Llanto Del Valle”, a Split CD with local Atmospheric Doom
act Sköll, out digitally through Jaibaná Records on
January 15, 2020. Lebzul also wrote the lyrics and sang on Sköll’s closing
track “Anima Siderum”.
The upcoming full-length “Decadencia” is scheduled for
an early 2020 release.
